New Year's Eve is approaching and we are already counting the
days to say goodbye to 2021 and find out what 2022 brings us. In terms of hair,
this has been a very prolific year, taking into account that we have continued
to live in largely under many constraints that limit events and minimize our
social life.
·
Taking into account the evolution of trends, it seems that 2022
will be a year in which very
different aesthetic harmony will coexist : extra-long hair
and short manes, unstructured cuts and straight and whole styles, among
others. Without a doubt, an ideal context for all of us to find that style
that best fits our image and our features.

Trends in haircuts 2022
Versions of the
"bob"
The bob style has been
the quintessential short hair in recent years, surviving all
trends. However, coexistence with these other fashion styles has given
rise to hybrid versions that differ from each other by subtle features such as length, blunt
or finish .
Those new hybrid “bobs” will
be one of the dominant trends of this approaching 2022. And there is no
hesitation that there is plenty to choose from.
On the one hand, one of
the most popular versions will be the "Italian bob" , the one
that is combed to the side, giving rise to a stylish volume in the upper part
of the head.
On the other hand, we
will last to be seduced by the “flop” ,
that straight,
polished “bob” that is parted in the middle ,
offering a very sophisticated look.
Another of the most
revered styles will continue to be the “french bob” , that shorter than the
classic one, with a lot of volume
and a casual air , which is combined with a slightly open fringe that
gives such a sensual (and so French) air.
Lastly, the “jagged bob” will continue to be
a trend option for those looking to give their grown up “bob” a different
and funky air. It is the one that is cut above the shoulders
and totally blunt , that is, cut vertically at the point of scissors, as if
taking bites.
They will undoubtedly
continue to be a great choice when it comes to changing our image and
rejuvenating our appearance (they are the ideal haircut after 50 ). Thus,
options such as the "clavicut" ,
which rests on the clavicles with the front part slightly longer, or the "lob" (the grown "bob"),
will be ideal to show off that flattering trend of hair.
"Lop"
As for the options for
short hair, the hybrids with a certain length triumph once again, allowing us
to play with the hairstyle. The latest discovery in this sense has been
the "lop" or "bixie" , which works as a
fusion between the ubiquitous "bob" and the quintessential short
hair, the "pixie".
This mini hair comes from
combining the length of a "bob" with the shape of the
"pixie" , in such a way that a perfect length is achieved that
allows various hairstyle options with great comfort.
Layers and
parades
The nineties weathered hair is full
of movement, as well as the parades
that frame the face , both in midi and long hair. In
the latter case, the layers and parades are concentrated on the contour of the
face to leave the entire cut but give movement in the upper part.
Unstructured
cuts
The cuts with more
movement will continue to be a trend this year, although evolving in
style. This is the case of the " mullet ", of which we
will see its longest version; the " shaggy ", which we
now prefer in midi versions, or the "wolf cut" the mix of both
styles that allows great customization.
Smooth and
flawless XL manes
Bob and midi cuts coexist
with new flawless and shiny extra-long manes . They
are manes that require exquisite care with frequent visits to the hairdresser
(contrary to what it may seem) and that are combined with weathered at the top to
give movement and prevent them from being so languid. In this case, there
is a strong inspiration in the extra
long manes of the 70s .
