·         Without a doubt, glitter will be one of the main elements of the New Year's Eve night , both in the garments and accessories and in the makeup, which lends itself to an evening as special as that to shine like never before.

·         So at last it is time to use those pigments or those glitter shadows that we once bought and that we have not had the opportunity to release. This is how we can use them to make up our eyes with glitter and make our eyes shine like never before on the last night of the year.

·         Make up eyes with glitter

When it comes to making up our eyelids with glitter, we can use two possible make-up formats:

  • Glitter shadows : usually with a creamy texture that allows the glitter particles to stick. When applying them, it is not very difficult for us to stain the contour of the eye.
  • Loose pigments : they need us to previously apply a product that provides adherence to the eyelid. It's also easy to smudge excess glitter on your face when trying to set it on the eyelid.

Depending on the format we choose, we will have to apply it in one way or another, even using different tools. Thus, for example, to apply cream shadows with glitter, it is more advisable to use an eye brush (one of those with firm, short and compact hair to allow a more comfortable handling). In the case of pigments, we can apply them both with the fingertips and with a brush according to what is most comfortable for us to better control the quantity and finish.

As a trick to get a good definition to now make up eyes with glitter, we can apply this one that makeup artist Miguel Álvarez teaches us on Instagram , who places a little masking tape to delimit the line.

It is also important to note that the brush must be slightly moistened so that the "glitter" particles adhere when depositing them on the skin.

How to stick glitter on eyes

For when we use loose pigments, which are nothing more than glitter powders, we will need a product that fixes them on the skin (or on the previously applied eyeshadow). We have several options:

Primers for "glitter" : eye primers or "primer" are ideal for applying glitter to the eyelids and obtaining a perfect finish because they are designed for that purpose. We can also use an ordinary eye primer if we do not have a specific one as it will give us

Glue for false eyelashes : offers a perfect adherence. It is enough to spread it over the skin with the help of an eye brush (with short and thick hair) and then apply the loose pigments on top. It is best to apply with a thin layer of glue to avoid a paste on the eyelid. In addition, if we are going to make up the entire eyelid with the pigment, it is advisable to apply the glue and glitter in small sections to prevent it from drying out.

eyeliners glitter : although these "eyeliner" already incorporate a small amount of brightness, the effect we seek is more intense. So we can use them as a base to impregnate the entire eyelid and apply the pigment on top. Although it may be most practical to mix them previously in a palette with the bright pigment that we want and apply it all directly to the eyelid.

Transparent lip gloss: its sticky texture allows us to fix the shiny particles on the skin, although the finish will be less durable than with the rest of the options.

Transparent mascara : as with the previous option, its texture allows the shine to stick, although the finish may not be very durable. To prolong its duration, we recommend that you mix a little of the product directly with the bright pigment in a palette to apply it as if it were a creamy shadow.
